I have set up SBS and need help to complete it - Here are the issues?
A few months ago we had sharepoint outsourced by bcentral. because we had
about 750 MB of data they watned to raise our rate to $300. month. We decided
to try to host it ourselves.
Then we thought, why not just buy a server and host exchange ourselves so
that we can load CRM on it.
So we did. I had a local guy (god at networking but not applications) set it
up and we got sharepoint working remotely.
We used small business server and people can login from the outside and save
and download files from it.
We have the server in the NJ office and can access it remotely.
Here are the parts that are working:
1. VPN- using netgear vpn firewall and it is working fine
2. sharepoint- we can get remote access to this by going to
sharepoint.enterprisefc.com and usingwindows authentification. We are
pubklished through IIS.
3, exchange is working internally- using pop connector- no prpblem inside
the newtork in nj. It doesn't work outside the building- rpc or http is not
working?? Don't know why. This is the key to all of it.
4. internet connection- works fine setup through the firewall and then into
a switch with the server as a spoke along with the 3 pcs in the nj office.
5. Remote access- this doesn't work because it always goes to the sharepoint
site. I might have iis setup wrong for this to work.
6. CRM- is loaded on the system and can be accessed inside the network under
crmweb... but not from the outside.
our goal is to get eschange working remotely by using rpc then transfer all
of our data from act to crm and roll it out.
We are currently using an outside company to host our exchange. ( we set up
email accounts in our hosting package which forwards email to to exchange
account) I'd like to keep this setup and use the connector so that if our
exchange goes down at least we have mailboxes for everyone hosted externally.
Can you help me get these fixed if I give you remote access to the server?
please email me at kpo999@xxxxxxxxx if you can help with contact information
and rate.
