Hi Kiani,
Thank you for posting in SBS newsgroup.
>From your description, I understand you have disabled an account by
performing the following steps but you can still use the account to access
OWA. If I have misunderstood your concerns, please don not hesitate to let
me know.
1. Expand Advanced Management | Active Directory Users and Computers |
Server name | MyBusiness | Users | SBSUsers.
2. Right click the user and select Disable Account.
As I know, even if you disabled the account in ADU&C, the user will still
be able to logon OWA. However, he will not be able to logon via Outlook.
The Outlook and AD client computer logon will be authenticated by the
domain controller. However, the OWA logon is not using the same way. To
disable OWA logon, you must follow these steps:
1. Open ADU&C.
2. Open the user's properties.
3. Click Exchange Features tab.
4. Click Outlook Web Access.
5. Click Disable.
After doing so, the OWA logon attribute will be changed. When the user try
to logon via OWA, Exchange will check this attribute and prevent the user
from logging on via OWA.
In addition, if multiple DCs exist, please perform the replication as
following:
1. On the destination domain controller, open "Active Directory Sites and
Services".
2. In the console tree, click "NTDS Settings" for the domain controller
that you want to force replication on.
3. In the details pane, right-click the connection that you want to use to
replicate directory information, and then click "Replicate Now".
Hope the information help and I look forward to your reply.
Best regards,
Crina Li (MSFT)
