w32 Time, mad process consuming lots of memory

Having problems with the windows time. The error message I recieve is that
it cannot connect to a RPC server.

The service has failed to start. Restarting the service results in an error
stating that the the service is disabled or has no associated devices with
it.

Tried the 1st fix at http://msmvps.com/kwsupport/, do not have ISA server.
This fix results in same message.

Did restart the IE wizard which I presume created the problem. Will resart
the server early next week however at approximately the same time the Time
error occured have also experienced a very large increase in the memory used
by the mad process.

At present it is at 758,234 and rising by the second. This is activating
memory alert messages frequently now.

Would the IECW cause this problem too. Know a reboot is required however not
sure if the memory problem will reappear.
