Re: NTBackup hangs after restoring files...

Hi Jerry,

Many thanks for the reply

1) NTBackup hangs after it has completed restoring the files to the hard
drive

2) This occurs with any type of files (word etc etc)

3) There is no apparent problem with backing up files, if I browse to the
tape I can see all the files that are mean't to be on there. But also the
files do restorre from the tape ok (apart from the hang).

4) SBSBackup does all the backups

5) No not any.

6) Strangely no it works perfectly

7) I will try this and get back to you..

8) Yes I have the latest driver installed on the system

Curiously the problem seems to be more that I originally described....

I also get a hardware error when trying to catalog the tape and also when
the tape has commenced a verify action after backing up to the tape:-

Verify Status

Operation: Verify After Backup

Active backup destination: DLT

Error: The device reported an error on a request to seek to a logical media
address.

Error reported: Hardware failure.

There may be a hardware or media problem.

Please check the system event log for relevant failures.

Could this have some relevance to the error?

Many thanks in advance,

Russell
