thank you both for your posts...it seems it was a case of user
error...i sent them both offsite to test and they called in with these
issues...last night (before they left for mexico) i took their
computers off-site to test it myself and both were working as
expected...the one that couldn't login might have been trying the
wrong password and the other wasn't patient enought to wait for the
shared drives to sync up...
