Re: SBS 2000 and wireless LAN

Hi Stan,

If you want the wap connected pc's to have access to the internet, but not
the lan (as in the case of visitors, etc.) then I'd go two nics in the SBS,
and replace the dlink with a wireless gateway router. Use the router to
maintain the PPPoE connection, and it's DHCP, wap, and security functions to
provide the internet connection independenly of the SBS.

You can still access the SBS lan from the external wap workstations, so long
as you provide authentication as any external user would need to do.

A two nic setup with an external gateway router gives you two private
networks, you lan network and another private network, both sharing the same
DSL internet connection.
