Well A good Reason not to run without the sides is Dust.
And cross talk if there is another PC around.
It sounds like Compaq has a problem with this since they are the only I've
seen with stickers like that.
(Remember a PC chip is run by a Oscillating Chip that broadcasts.)
A Gracefull shutdown for for Heat? That sounds odd..
Usually the Bios is the one that shuts it down.
(Check your Bios and See if the Overheat is set at it's lowest temp.)
Maybe it's set too low?
Check the Bios, see if the temp shut off.
I'd Run it without the side case one day.
(Assuming it's not next to 12 other servers.)
Then I'd move it off by it self just in case of frequency problems.
This is Weird.
Yes, I still think it can be memory...
Does it Reboot, or Just Shut down?
Now that I'm thinking a overheat shutdown would probably not Start back up
right away!
a Memory (Assuming you have a mother board that can handle it, would just
reboot.)
Maybe get a 10 Dollar Digital Temp gauge for the server room most of them
track the high and low of temps.
(This way you can see what temp it gets.)
Sick the Outdoor probe in the PC and the External part outside.
(I've done this in the past, it's a cheap way to see what is happening temp
wise..)
Hmmm Still thinking on this.. myself
