Re: Permissions problem, I think?

I recently struggled with SBS2003 rights and for what it's worth I think
this should clarify the issues and help you resolve your problem.

There are effective three main issues surrounding rights:

1) "Permissions"
Shared folders assign "Permissions" to user to access folders
2) "Security"
Security assigns permissions at the file level
3) Inherited rights
Within Security you will see an option to disable inherited permissions.
These are assumed permissions that a sub folder takes on based on its
parent. It is not always desirable for folders to have assumed permissions
and so you can disable them and instead apply explicit permissions for the
given folder and in turn decide if these permission should apply to just
that folder, or also its sub folders. Finally, after manipulating Security
permissions you can choose to apply the new settings to all the files
contained in that portion of the file tree.

You can get to the Permissions and Security tabs by simply right clicking
and selecting either Sharing or Properties when you view the folder in the
file list.
