Charles,
Thank you for continuing to look at this, it is still most aggravating. We
will do some further testing.
to clarify my issue: I have many IE6 favorites that use a login,
(including many routers with an http interface), I generally just enter the
first character of the user name, and the auto-fill completes the rest of
the username and the password. When SBS migrates my profile (when I use
http://sbsServer/ConnectComputer) it does copy my favorites and cookies but
for some reason the auto-fill user names / passwords items are not kept.
Recently I had some success in transferring these settings from one computer
to another and I though it was through IE6 Export/Import cookies, but that
doesn't seem to work now. (this is really independent of the problem and
does not involve SBS)
I found this:documentation about profile copying when joining an SBS 2003
domain using the add users/computers (server Manager).
Assigning Users and Migrating ProfilesYou can assign users to the client
computer, and you can migrate user profiles.
To assign a user to a client computer
In the Available Users box, click a user name.
Click Add.
More that one user can be assigned to a client computer.
The Domain Admins group is added by default.
To remove an assigned user, select the user name in the Users assigned to
this computer box, and then click Remove.
To migrate a user profile
When you assign a user to the client computer, the user name is added to the
Assigned User column.
In the Assigned User column, click the name of the user whose profile you
want to migrate.
Click the user's previous user name.
Click Next.
2) How is auto-fill related to cookies? When I save a password in IE6 is it
saved as a cookie? or something else?

We have joined several clients to the SBS domain using the ConnectComputer
wizard, the profiles (at least as far as we can tell, most of them ) do get
transferrred OK, but not the logon autofill enrties.

See the above, at on etime we thought we could transfer this information,
using IE6 Export/Import cookies, but we where unable to achieve the desired
goal even with that.
