If the IP config has problems the server will take a _very_ long time to
boot normally, but should.
I believe your best bet would be to start in Directory Services Restore
Mode. We are not going to restore anything, it's just useful to get at
networking settings. Try it, do you get a login? The only thing you want to
do is to set both NICs to the last working settings. I expect this to be
fixed IP's on both NICs.
I'm not familiar with the password error. Can you think of anything which
was attempted which may be causing it? (a quick google doesn't give me much)
I have no reason to believe anything involving an intrusion has occurred.
The problem is mostly misunderstood concepts.
