Re: SBS two adapter setup with Netopia Router. Help Save my weeked

First, I ran the change server IP and and I ran the CEICW as instructed.
Second Again thanks for your help, even the two by four. By way of
explanation: When you said use DCHP to set IPs I did not realize that the
wizard would set that up automatically. I had some advice over the phone
from someone who does not use the wizards. Too many cooks etc. This started
as a simple put in another network card. Since this has become more involved
I would be more than happy to do this on a fee basis. I am not sure what the
etiquette is on this.
After your email I reran Change Server IP and CEICW
The CEICW failed saying it could not set scope there was another DCHP server
on the network. I repeated the Change server IP and CEICW, same stop. I
looked at the DCHP security tab and there was "unkown user S-1 followed by a
string of digits listed as a user.
About that time I got a Norton message that another network had been
discovered.
I looked at the local server adapter and it was connected to a unkown
169.254.X.X address and a tremendous number of packets were flowing I
disconnected the server from the DSL modem to isolate the network under the
assumption I was being hacked.
After this there was no server listed under servers. I tried to reboot and
it hung for 1. hour at network settings. Tried a second time same
result.Tried to go from last successful etc. Result it is in a do loop at
ISASSE.exe.
At this point I am only interested in getting my data files off the server
on to a workstation. Can you point me in the right direction to get it
running enough to offload the disk data? Thanks again. And yes I am looking
for the most recent backup but they are on tape so I need it up to even try
that.
Thanks
