access to remote web workplace

We have just upgraded to SBS2003 and I have been having trouble getting to my
web workplace and email from outside the office. I thought at first it was a
firewall port problem, but the consultant I asked to fix that has left me
hanging. I was working on it again today and think now it might have
something to do with the domain name. The server has the domain name of
anything-xtreme.com and the workplaces opens at
https://hector.anything-xtreme.com/remote within the office. I just pinged
that location from outside the office and it pinged
https://hector.anything-xtreme.com/remote.xtremepaintball.com with the ip
address of one of our old webservers we use only as a SQL Server for our new
webserver. Do I need to change the domain name of the SBS Server? The
consultant set it up a couple of years ago like it is, and I see that now in
SBS setups it has you doing something like .local.
