Crina,
At the moment all pinging works, but the machine was restarted last night,
so I am not seeing the error at the moment. I will verify the ping behavior
the next time the errors occur (should be in a day or two). As I recall,
pinging resolves the external DNS, but IE stops working. I don't think I've
tried pinging the FQDN from the member server, but pinging the domain
controller by name works. This is the only machine running win2k, the DC is
SBS2003, and the workstations are all XP.
Thanks again for all of your help, I will verify these results when the
server is unable to connect to the domain again.
