Well, that's extremely cumbersome if there are 60 contacts each to be
entered in ADUC, after which maintenance of the list becomes burdensome. If
list members change, someone has to go into ADUC and add/delete/reconfigure,
then someone has to go into the list and change that. It's ridiculous that
this should be so difficult.

This doesn't solve the problem. What the client wants--this can't be the
first time anyone's wanted to do this--is to set up a list that people
outside the organization can send email to that will go to everyone on the
list, including people outside the organization.
I tried to set up a workaround by creating a rule that would spot a word in
the subject line, then redirect email containing that subject-line word to
members of the new distribution list, but Outlook won't allow that, saying
you can't use a "private distrubution list" in this manner and substituting
the individual list members instead. But then I couldn't apply the rule
because there were too many members, so I had to create two rules, A-L, and
M-Z.
Why should this be so hard?
Is there some alternative I'm overlooking that will accomplish this or
something similar?
