Before I'd do that... I'd call PSS. You don't just casually rip out AD in SBS before some investigation.
What happened to this little guy to get it in this mess?

Reading about it on the MS site, I've come to the conclusion that I need to uninstall and re-install Active Directory. How do I do this??? I can't run DCPROMO when in the Directory Services Restore Mode.
