Re: Server Turning Off, UPS Unresponsive

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Several servers in a cupboard with little cooling is a recipe for trouble.
Problem is probably not the UPS, but the server box itself. Some
suggestions:
* Install the CPU temperature monitoring software for your motherboard
provided by the motherboard manufacturer, and *use it*, or install a
hardware temperature sensing and alert device. If the temperature gets too
high, you need to improve the cooling.
* Check the advanced BIOS settings. If the motherboard has temperature
monitoring, there should be a setting for the critical CPU temperature at
which the BIOS will shut down the system to keep the CPU from
self-destructing. You might try to increase that setting if it is in the low
side of the range.
* Replace the power supply. If that does not work replace the motherboard.
