Hello, Im having a wierd problem and hoping for some ideas on how to track it
down and address it. I currently am running a windows SBS2003 network and
another file server running 2003 Server (as member). The SBS server has 2 nic
cards, the member server has 1 nic, all nic's have static IP's. On my network
I have 25 workstation computers. Everything is functioning fine. My problem
lies in VPN connection from a laptop computer running XP Sp2. I can connect
to the SBS network fine, authenticate, etc. I can ping any address on the
internal netwrok by name or ip address EXCEPT the windows 2003 member server.
I can only ping it by IP address or its FQDN (computername.domain.local). I
can access shares on any computer on the network, EXCEPT this member server.
My client laptop is set to recieve IP/DNS addressing from the SBS2003 server.
Ive disabled firewalls with no change in this behavior. The only thing that
is different from this machine, vs the others on the network, is it has a
static IP address and running MS 2003 server. ANyone have any ideas?
.
