Hi Mariette,

I only mention it as a possibility, I'm fairly certain you would have
checked. The item to check is the bios boot device order. Jan has a mobo
which I'm fairly certain is an intel chipset, in a system we used as a test
box. Each time a HDD is added to the box the boot order needs to be set to
whichever devices, the bios seems to change the order randomly on each drive
change. Your change from independent drives to RAID array may be causing a
similar behaviour. But, I emphasise, I'm only mentioning it as it is an
observed behaviour, I really do expect you've already checked this.

Another possibility. Do not create the array until the OS is installed.
This depends on whether the controller can non-destructively create the
array, most can but I'm not familiar with your mobo and not prepared to read
the manual :-)
