RE: Netgear fvx538 and Prosafe VPN Client

Hi Richard,

Thanks for your reply.

I have reviewed the whole thread and I have summarized the issue below:

Network diagram
===========

LAN(workgroup) - Swith - NetGear328 ----vpn---- Netgear538 - SBS - Switch -
LAN

Symptom
======

If you put the laptop in LAN (workgroup), you are unable to access the LAN
in the SBS. If you manually establish the VPN connection from the laptop
to the NetGear 538, you can access the SBS LAN.

If I have misunderstood your concern, please do not hesitate to let me
know.

Would you please to help me to confirm the following information?

1. When the laptop in the LAN (workgroup), can you PING IP of a machine in
the SBS LAN?
2. Can any other client in LAN (workgroup) PING IP of a machine in the SBS
LAN?

If no machine in LAN (workgroup) can PING the machine in SBS LAN, then the
problem may be caused by the site-to-site VPN. You may contact the NetGear
support for the help.

If only the laptop cannot PING machine in SBS LAN, please help me to gather
the following information:

1. Get ipconfig /all results from the laptop.
2. Get ipconfig /all results from a known good machine in LAN (workgroup).

Please post the result to newsgroup so that we can check if the TCP/IP
setting on the laptop is correct.

I look forward to your reply.

Best regards,

Crina Li (MSFT)
