Hi Simon,
Thank you for the post.
>From your description, I understand that you would like to get some
learning resources for the sharepoint companyweb. If I have misunderstood
your issue, please let me know.
Actually, here is a guide for the sharepoint services that you can refer to:
Windows SharePoint Services Administrator''s Guide
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=a637eff6-8224-4b19-
a6a4-3e33fa13d230&displaylang=en
And you can also find some useful information at:
http://www.micrsoft.com/sharepoint
For your information:

2003 SharePoint Services Companyweb Web site
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=829114
How to perform a disaster recovery operation of SharePoint Services
Companyweb and SharePoint Services Databases

How to publish http://Companyweb to the Internet by using ISA Server 2000
on a server that is running Windows Small Business Server 2003, Premium
Edition

as for the changing basic logo, I am not sure if you means the windows
sharepoint service logo in the right top of the companyweb default web
page. If I am correct, you can perform the change by using the following
steps:
1. Open the companyweb as the administrator account.
2. Click the link "Modify shared page" in the right top of the web page.
3. Select "Modify shared web parts" -> "site image", click on it to open
the "site image" configure section.
4. In the first field, you can fill in the URL or path for a new image to
change the logo. Do not forget to click ok to confirm the change.
If there is anything else that I can do for you, please feel free to
contact me, and I will be happy to help!
Best regards,
Jerry Zhao (MSFT)
