RE: Unable to print on ports 9100/515

Hi Charles,
Thanks for your reply. The printer is actually inside the domain, and has
been assigned a static IP within the DHCP scope, but above the others in use.
We are unable to print to it from machines within the domain, and don't need
to print from machines outside the domain.
Is the protocol definition for outbound on port 9100 and 515 actually trying
to send those requests outside the domain? The printer installation person
is the one that created those, and he said they were needed.
In this case, is it still a good idea to publish the printer? I really
don't want to open up security holes that are not needed, and we do not want
to print from outside the domain. Just inside. I am not really sure why ISA
would be involved, but we did not know where else to look.
Perhaps I will try removing the protocol definitions for outbound, and then
try to publish the printer. I will let you know if either of those things
work.
Thanks,
Laura
