RE: Backup Log Links dont work in Server Management Console

Tech-Archive recommends: Speed Up your PC by fixing your registry

Hi Currier,

Welcome to the SBS newsgroup.

According to your description, I understand that when you click the "view
log" and "view last backup log" links in backup snap, they do not work.

The backup status is a .xml file. When we click ''Backup'' in ''Server
Management'' console, this .xml file will be displayed on the screen. The
"view log" is existed in the .xml file. So in order to isolate the issue,
please help gather information below:

1. Could you test if you can open the log by typing the link http://server
name/backup. (Please logon the SBS 2003 as a domain AD)
2. What kinds of detailed error messages you encountered when you click the
link.
3. Please also check is there any related error entry in the event view.
4. Is there any problem in access the local internal website?
5. Please also check the file backup results.xml at the ''C:\Program
Files\Microsoft Windows Small Business Server\backup to see if the location
for the backup and last backup is correct.
6. Could you test to see if you can view the server report at the
monitoring and reporting snap in the server management?

I appreciate your taking the time to perform the tests and paste the
results as your earliest convenience. I am here waiting for your updates.

Best regards,

Charles Yang (MSFT)
