RE: Problem when resolving problems listet in MBSA.

Hi Christian,

Thank you for posting in SBS newsgroup.

I have read the question clearly, it seems like the information of the MBSA
reported is incorrect since these services need to be running in Local
System account. Since the question you have encountered is a MBSA problem,
if you have any other questions regarding MBSA, please post this question
in the Microsoft.public.security.baseline_analyzer newsgroup. The reason
why we recommend posting appropriately is you will get the most qualified
pool of respondents, and other partners who read the newsgroups regularly
can either share their knowledge or learn from your interaction with us.

Thanks for your understanding.

Best regards,

Crina Li (MSFT)

| | Hi!
|
| I am using a Microsoft Small Business Server 2003 Premium (with ISA and
MS SQL).
|
| Now I installad the actual version of Microsoft Baseline Security
Analizer, and performed a check of my system.
|
| There are two errors I can't resolve:
|
| 1. I have to users, which are service accounts with domain-user
priviliges. MBSA told me to change the Internet Explorer settings
| for these users to default, but I don't know how. For the Administrator
it's no problem, but I can't log in with the service
| accounts, so how should I set the IE settings for those accounts?
|
| 2. On the server runs the SBSMONITORING on MSDE and SHAREPOINT and MS-SQL
on MS-SQL. Now I get the error, that these services use
| the Local System account, which is not save. There was no problem to
change the service account for SHAREPOINT and MS-SQL. I did
| this in the SQL-Systemmanger, but I don't know how to change the service
account for SBSMONITORING. If I do this under services, I
| get the error, that the service could not be startet because on error 5.
|
| Kind greetings and thanks,
| christian.
