Hi fahlis,
Thanks for your reply.
We do not recommend you to build additional web sites on SBS. However, if
you decide to build additional web sites, you must use other ports, not
80/443/444 and other SBS reserved ports.
Because you import a new certificate, please to double-check if the
certification of the IIS and smartphone is same with your external domain
name.
Please also try the steps of the following KB article:
330463 XCCC: How to troubleshoot server ActiveSync HTTP error codes
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=330463
310156 How to limit the header size of the HTTP transmission that IIS
accepts
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=310156
Based on my research, this event may occur if multiple NICs are installed,
and Default Web site is not configured correctly. Let us double check the
following settings:
a. How many NICs are installed on the Exchange server 2003?
b. How many IP address are bound on the NICs?
c. Launch IIS Manager, and open the properties of the Default Web Site. On
General tab, make sure that it listen on "All Unassigned" IP addresses.
d. Stop and restart the web site for the changes to take effect.
If the issue persists, let's collect the IIS logging for further research:
a) On Exchange server 2003, open IIS Manager. Expand IIS -> ServerName ->
Web Sites -> Default Web Site -> Properties -> Web Site tab:
b) Make sure "Enable Logging" is checked, and use "W3C Extended Log File
Format".
c) Click Properties. On Advanced tab, check all check boxes. On General
tab, you can find the path for IIS logfile.
d) Repro the issue by testing Exchange ActiveSync again.
e) Stop the Default Web Site.
f) Post the IIS log to SBS newsgroup.
If anything is unclear, please feel free to let me know. I'm looking
forward to your reply.
Best regards,
Crina Li (MSFT)

| Hi Crina,
|
| Hmm, I don´t really think I need to got through all those steps...or?
| read on.., not sure you understood my explanation, the thing is that
| it did work like charm up until recently when a work partner of mine
| did try to publish a second sharepoint site externally, not sure what
| he did exactly, but he did create a certificate for that sharepoint
| site, and I know for a fact that when I "accidently" connected my
| Smartphone by USB to my XP client computer it did start that initial
| configuration which is included in SBS for a mobile, and thus
| installed that certificate that the sharepoint had produced on my
| phone without me being able to stop it....anyway when this second
| sharepoint was started in IIS, the default website had to be
| stopped....and it was.. during the test of sharepoint...after that we
| stopped the test sharepoint site, and restarted the default website
| again, thinking that activesync/OWÁ etc whould work instantly as no
| change had been made to the default website in IIS....OWA did work,
| but not activesync as I explained in my first post. What I did was
| manually remove the sharepoint cert that accidently had been installed
| on my smartphone adn manually installed the one I had previously which
| at that point worked flawlessly.
|
| But now it does not work with that cert either. This is the error I
| recieve in the eventlog on the SBS server when trying activesync by
| air.

|
| The KB article you referred to I have tried, that is in IIS I disabled
| forms based auth, and did the "regfix" also, same thing happens
| anyway.
