At my business I'm required to send and receive all email through ourPOP3/SMTP
corporate servers for security reasons. This is done simply with a
configuration in Outlook 2003. That 'email account' on each machine, that
therefore, needs to be set as the default. We also use our own Exchange
email through our SBS machine for internal office email. The problem is
it would seem every time the SBS is restarted or in any way changed, allof
the client machines in the office change the default email account fromthe
POP3/SMTP to the Exchange account (normally listed as a secondaryaccount).
This is terrible because any new email sent on the client machines (withno
reason to think anything has changed) is sent through the Exchangeaccount
rather than the required POP3/SMTP account. The employees have noticedand
try to watch out for it, but we can't be constantly worrying aboutwhether or
not Outlook 2003 and the SBS have changed the default email accountwithout
our knowledge. HELP! How can I stop this from happening??? -Drew
Why not simply configure Exchange to use your corporate servers as a smarthost? (this is an option in CEICW, or you can do it manually through Exchange System Manager).
Though it seems a little odd that you have "corporate servers" as well as SBS...
