Help configuring web site access from external

Hi to all,
I am very new to all this but am trying to do everthing all at once.

I have just purchased SBS 2003 standard and it's up and running. Email does
not work like I believe it shoulf but I will leave that till another post

My problem is I have my own web site and a friends website running on my
server. Anyone can access either site as I have done the dns forwarding and
the header identification and it all works, except I am unable to edit
either site from external.

If I try I get timeout's

I went through the frontpage server extensions area and set that all up.
When I attempt to edit the site externally I get prompted for the Userid and
password , it appears to take it, and then the wait starts, eventually
timeout.

There is something I am doing that is possably very basiv but ????????

Thanks in advance
Phillip
