Hi Charles,
When Windows 2003 SP1 came out, there was no warning about installing in on
SBS 2003.
Our system installed it automatically.
The bugs became apparent after a few days.
Then I tried to repair RRAS (with SP1 still installed), this succeeded.
But I was unable to get the Fax working (SP1).
Then the advice appeared NOT to install SP1 on SBS 2003.
So I removed Windows Server SP1.
Then the trouble started: Monitoring and Reporting, Companyweb,
Administration and Intel Server Management (8.30) stopped functioning.
I spend days on repairing.
First I tried the ‘Reinstall’ options in the SBS Installer.
Then ‘Remove’ and ‘Install’, eventually on all SBS parts (except Exchange).
I used several articles from the KB.
I also had to reinstall IIs (v6.0).
And I tried to repair WMI with some WMI utilities.
Except for:
Errors:
No data is available for this section. Ensure that the Windows Management
Instrumentation service is running.
System Processor Use : Critical condition. WMI Status: 2147749904
Enumeration failed. Object not found. Data Collector is misconfigured.
0x80041010 :
Every thing worked Ok. Inclusive ISM 8.30.
Then I did as suggested in the post from John Bay
-Uninstall healthmonitor from Add/Remove Programs
-Stop the WINMGMT service (Set it to disable to stop it from starting again)
-Delete all files in the WBEM Repository directory (located in the
\%Windir%\System32\WBEM\Repository )
-Restart the WINMGMT service (Set it to enable and then start it). CIMOM
will then recompile all MOFs from the AUTORECOVER list as soon as the first
request is made for a provider.
-Install Healthmonitor using SBS Setup.
Now I get:
Error:
No data is available for this section. Ensure that the Windows Management
Instrumentation service is running.
Server has been running: (empty)
Memory in use No data
And in the ‘Health Monitor’ I can see that several ‘Data Collectors’ from
‘Performance Monitor’ are unable to collect there data. (GUID B394AE36-
GUID F29E6656- GUID 4BC43D42 )
And ISM 8.30 stopped functioning.
I do not have a complete backup.
But I can try to find the missing files (whem ?) in Backup Sets, if I now
which files to search for.
