1. Firewall client does detect the server, but installation of the
firewall client makes no difference.
2. Use of the detection feature does not fix the problem.
3. Makes no difference.
4. This is not a gpo issue, as the same user can log into another
terminal server and browse the web successfully. No gpo's are applied
to this server that are not applied to any other computer in the
domain.
More information:
If I set the local policy to use machine proxy settings rather then the
user proxy settings, the user's registry will maintain the proxyserver,
proxyenable, and proxyoverride settings. If I set it to use the
machines proxy settings, then no matter what, the users registry
entries for proxyserver and proxyoverride are deleted and proxyenable
gets set to 0.
