I'm assuming the name displayed in the server console matches that displayed
in AD users and computers. Try going to the advanced mgmt section of the
server console. Drill down through ad users and computers, my business,
users, sbs users. R-click the user and choose rename, but then change the
name right in the box on the screen, as you'd change a filename in windows
explorer. When you hit enter, the rename dialog box will open - just OK it
without making any changes.
There's a "full name" field in the rename dialog box that apparently can't
be accessed directly in the user properties, and that controls what's
displayed. You have to do this in AD users and computers - the full name
field is not available in the rename command in the server mgmt console ->
users either.
