Hi Greg ,
Thank you for posting in SBS newsgroup.
According to your description, I understand that you could not connect to
the remote web workplace and "HTTP 404 - File not found" error occurs. If it
is not your concern, please don't hesitate to let me know.
To troubleshoot this issue, please help me check the following information:
1. On the SBS server, please open https://localhost/remote , can you visit
the remote site?
2. Please logon to the RWW site on one of the client workstation with
domain admin account by URL https://SBSserver/remote , can you visit the
remote site?
3. If you have hardware router in front of the SBS server ,please make sure
TCP port 443,444 and 4125 is forwarded to the SBS server external NIC.
Additional information:
Port 443 (https://) enable all secure browser access, including
external access to Exchange for Outlook 2003, OWA, and OMA clients;
required for external access to server monitoring and usage reports
Port 444 enable internal and external access to the SharePoint Web
Port 4125 enable external OWA access to Exchange, plus internal and
external HTTPS access to the client Web site
4. If the issue still persists, I would suggest you re-run the CEICW wizard
and set up your certificate again with the xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx WAN IP address
..Make sure you allow Remote Web Workplace.

5. If the issue still persists after the above efforts, a suggested
resolution to your issue as agreed upon is a removal and reinstallation of
the Intranet component of the SBS 2003 server allowed companyweb to install
properly and then could be browsed.
To reinstallation of the Intranet component of the SBS 2003
server,Please refer to the following steps.
A. Disconnect the server from the Internet.
B. Completely disable the Anti-Virus Services and devices on the server
or else completely remove the AV software. Restart the server when
completed. It is necessary to restart the server at this point to ensure
that no AV filter drivers are running.
C. Stop IIS Admin Service. Backup the \InetPub and
\winnt\system32\inetsrv directories if custom web sites have been created
on this server. If not, go to the next step.
D. Run Add/Remove Windows Components from Control Panel | Add/Remove
Programs.
E. Uncheck the Internet Information Services checkbox in the Windows
Components Wizard.
F. Click next to run the Windows Components Wizard to completion.
Restart the server, even if not prompted to do so. You will see Service
Control Manager errors informing you that one or more services failed to
start during the startup during the restart. This is OK and expected for
the server's current configuration.
G. Delete the c:\inetpub folder completely if no customer web sites have
been created. If there is(are) custom website, ensure backups of the
appropriate folders used by the custom web sites exist prior to deleting
the \inetpub folder.
H. Verify that the c:\winnt\system32\inetsrv folder has no subfolders,
that there are only a few miscellaneous files at the root of the \inetsrv
folder. Some of these files can't be deleted...will reappear if you do so
because they are protected files and windows file protection puts them
back. Delete any subfolders. Verify that the metabase.bin file is NOT
present in the \inetsrv folder. Delete it if it is.
I. Run the Add/Remove Windows Components Wizard per step 5.
J. Check the Internet Information Services checkbox in the Windows
Components Wizard. Click on the Details button and uncheck the File
Transfer Protocol ,then click OK and then click Next to continue the
Windows Components Wizard to completion.
K. IIS is now reinstalled on the server.
