All we're got is a fairly standard Dell rack server, with 2 US Robotics fax modems. 1 plugged into the serial port, one into a USB port.
Is there a link to info about this Brooktrout issue? So I can see if it's the same thing.
Thanks

We've been using the fax service for receiving faxes and sending them to a mailbox. On the whole, it works pretty well.
The problem is, that every so often (might be once a week, but rarely less often than that) an incoming fax seems to get stuck while receiving, and screwing up the whole service.
From that point on, the fax modems won't receive anything and I can'trestart the fax service. If I try, it stops, but fails while trying to start again, and then just sits there saying "starting".
The only way I've found to get it working again is to reboot the server, which is a bit severe, and as we get quite a lot of faxes, it's pretty important.
I did find something recently that suggested there could be problems if the modems were set to answer after one ring (which seems to be default behavior, and what they are set to when you run the wizard), but I've tried altering that, and still seem to be getting issues.
Any ideas? If you need any more details, let me know and I'll see what I can do.
Cheers
