Re: Archive mail folders date stamp after migration

Hello,
My concern is not with the PST files so much as the system date stamp on
existing emails in the exchange store when it was migrated across from the
old server. E.g. because the store is brand new does it date stamp all the
old mail from the old store to the date of the migration? So even though an
email has a date of say July 12 2003 I am guessing that it has a system
date of the day of the migration and therefore will not be archived until 6
months or whatever of the migration date, not the actual date stamp on the
email. I know that this is how Oulook 97 used to work, that if you opened
an old email then it would be treated as of the date you reopened it, not
the original send or receive date. I am wondering if the same thing goes on
with migrated mail during a ADMT install of SBS 2003 from SBS 2000.
And in answer to your questions, yes it is happening for all users, i.e. no
mail in the store is being archived to their archive folders, even if I say
archvie every day everthing older than two months. I see many old emails in
their mailboxes from a year or more ago.
thanks.
