Hi Will,
Thank you for posting in SBS newsgroup.
>From your description, do you mean that the small "synchronize" symbol
isn't on the My Docs and the My Docs still exists in the local file tree on
the pc when a user have finished folder redirect? If I misunderstand your
scenario, please let me know.
By my understanding, you have used Group Policy to redirect My Documents
folder for the users and this problem only occurs for the specific user.
So, you may need to check as following:
1. Right click the My Documents folder and choose Properties, does its
target point to the server share?
2. Create a new test file in the My Documents folder, log off and log on,
does it still there?
3. Run "gpresult /v" and check if the Folder Redirection policies applied
to the user?
If all of the above checks pass, the folder redirection should be working
well even though it does not have the "synchronize" symbol.
If the above does not work, you may refer to the following KB article:
321805 Folder Redirection Does Not Succeed When You Specify Mapped Network
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=321805
In addition, would you like to tell me that if it has any error message in
event log? You may check it as following:
1) Select Administrative Tools and click Event Viewer.
2) In Event Viewer windows, click Application, select log files regarding
to it.
You may post the error message which you have changed your private
information to newsgroup.
I look forward to your reply. Thanks again!
Best regards,

|| Maybe some of you followed my previous issue with the corruption of a
user
| account such that ownership, permissions, and synchronization wasn't
working
| correctly. That user is now synchronizing correctly, although a local My
| Docs folder still exists (with ownership of the old local user name,
which
| was supposed to transfer to the new domain logon, but whatever, I'm not
| concerned with that now)
|
| Now I have another user, maybe with a similar issue.
|
| Synchronization happens and succeeds, very rapidly--much too rapidly for
| over a gigabyte of files. It seems to work-I created a file and logged
off
| the user and it updated itself to the server.
|
| However, the small "synchronize" symbol isn't on the My Docs, and the My
| Docs still exists in the local file tree on the pc.
|
| Any idea what's going on?
|
| I did a RSoP planning on the user and the My Docs is set up to synch and
| move to the new location (\\server\users\username\my docouments)
|
| Further info, maybe or maybe not relevent. In the quota entries list for
| the drive, there are 6 SID's listed under Logon Name, all of which say
| "[Account Information Unavailable]" under Name. One of those is the
problem
| user I worked on in the previous thread, and still lists his 50+ MB of
files
| associated with that SID. His other 2 GB of files are listed under his
| correct logon name. What in the world is going on with these SID's?
Have I
| been hacked?
