Logging in to a pop3 account.

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

I have a server i have been having problems getting a user to get his email
through a pop3 account. (user logging into the sbs server to download email
at home into outlook.)

After much testing and looking I have found the problem. I just don't know
how to fix it.

Name is John Doe. login name is jdoe email addr is jd@xxxxxxxxxxxx

I have several other users who have thier initials for their email addr.
These are the users who cannot access their accounts with a pop3 client.

I tested this with two test user accounts. If the login name and email name
are the same I can login and retrieve email. If login name is one thing and
emain name is another I cannot log in.

Runnig SBS2003 w exch sp1

Any help is appreciated.
