RE: Windows 2003 server - which language version

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

Hello Michal,

Thank you for posting to the SBS Newsgroup.

Please see my suggestions below:

Q: I would like to know if the English version of the server will handle it?

A: Actually, there are no essential differences between the English and
Chinese version of Windows Server 2003 regarding all these requirements you
listed.

Q: They are using Chinese version of Windows 2000 Server. Is there any
English interface I can install and run on a server?

A: We do have a Multilingual User Interface Pack (MUI) which supports
several other languages on a Windows 2000 server however it can only be
installed on an English version of Windows 2000. So the answer is no.

Since you are now using the Windows 2000 Chinese version, I recommend you
to contact the local PSS support (China) for a dedicated and Professional
Support which can assist with your request. Please be advised that
contacting phone support will be a charged call.

To obtain the phone numbers for specific technology request please take a
look at the web site listed below.

If you are outside the US please see this link for regional support phone
numbers.

[NOTE]: In special cases, charges that are ordinarily incurred for support
calls may be canceled if a Microsoft Support Professional determines that a
specific update will resolve your problem. There will be NO COST for you to
requesting a hot fix. The typical support costs will apply to additional
support questions and issues that do not qualify for the specific update in
question.

Hope this information helps. I am glad to be working with you again.

Best regards,

Brandy Nee
