If I read your concern quickly, configuring your server with 2 NIC's is NOT
harder to do ... in fact SBS and the SBS wizards are designesd to work best
in a 2 nic card scenario. Listen, when I was a newbie and installing my
first sBS server, I was told the same thing --- use two NICs --- trust the
force, young Luke! And I haven't looked back.
Even with a two Nic scenario, we still recommend putting even a simply
DSL/Cable type of router between your first NIC and your internet device.
As to what to put into your data partition, it varies. I generally go with 3
partitions:
one for the O/S, one for the Exchange database, and one for everthing else
What is included in everything else? Well, when you install SBS you will
remember a screen asking you where you wish to install your shared fax
service, your shared user/company files, your sharepoint files, etc.. Put as
much as you can of these options in to your data partiton.
