Hello Doug (and Frank),
If you configure your mail clients to send through Exchange which then
forwards all mail through your ISP's SMTP Smarthost, all messages that arrive
at the remote mailserver should be stamped with the identity of your ISP's
Smarthost so you shouldn't have a message bounce problem even if you don't
personally ahve your own registered FQDN.
