RE: Moving mailboxes between SBS2003 domains

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Hi Mark,

Thanks for your posting.

>From your description, I understand that you would like to move the
mailboxes from one SBS server to another. If I'm off base, please let me
know.

As I know, normally we use the following two methods to achieve the goal:

1. Using exmerge.

In Microsoft Exchange Server 2003, organization administrators and domain
administrators are specifically denied Receive As and Send As permissions.
However, if you want to use the Microsoft Exchange Mailbox Merge Wizard
(ExMerge) on an Exchange 2003 computer, you can specifically grant
permissions to the Exchange Server administrator account that you want to
use with ExMerge.

For more information:

2003

Then, you can export the mailboxes to pst files by exmerge and then import
them to the new server. For detail information, please refer to the
following KB:

2. Using exchange migration wizard. Please refer to steps provided in the
following articles to perform your action:

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to let me know.
It's my pleasure to be of assistance.
