RE: Microsoft Shared Fax

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Jerry,

Thanks once again for your response.
However, still no good news I'm afraid.

On a Windows 2000 machine I logged on as administrator and uninstalled the
Microsoft Shared Fax software. I then reinstalled the software from
\\server\faxclient and selected the server's shared fax machine. I logged
back on as the user and tried to add the Microsoft Shared Fax Transport
account. But same problem with - the account you have just added is not
configured properly.

What is odd is that we have 4 Windows 2000 machines with this fault, 3
Windows XP machines with the fault - but the rest (some 25 + machines) are
all fine. There is nothing extraordinary about these affected machines as far
as I can tell. But then, I'm not even sure where I should be looking??
