CD-Roms Keep Disappearing On Client Machines In SBS2003 Domain

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Hi there,

I'm hoping someone can help me. One of our customers has a problem where
their client machines keep "losing" the cd drives. After a fresh reboot of a
client machine, the cd drive appears and works fine. But after a while the
cd drive is no longer available in Windows Explorer. I cannot seem to
pinpoint what is triggering this. I do know that all the clients log off and
log back on again at the start of every day.

This occurs not just on one machine, but on several, which is what points me
to believe it's something to do with the server. The cd-drives used are
different models as well, mostly Samsung and LG drives.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards,

Edmond
