Each PIX 501 comes with a 10 seat VPN license. Site to site VPN counts as 1
seat, regardless of how many users access resources through it (although you
may be limited to 10 users with a standard 501 - this can be upgraded to 50
users or unlimited for about £200.00). If you want remote access VPN's then
again, you can have 10 simultaneous connections using the Cisco VPN Client.
You are going to need a SmartNet contract as you said, but this is only
£40.00 per PIX 501. This will allow you to download the VPN Client software,
new OS images, new PDM images and access Technical Support which in my
opinion is fantastic - every time I've contacted TAC I have had an answer
within the hour.
Did you configure the pix-pix VPN's or did you inherit this setup ? Did you
try looking for an alternative answer at the link I gave you earlier ? If you
post this issue to the guys on the tek-tips pix forum, I'm sure you'll get
the answer you need within hours. Hope this helps.

Regards Colin.
