Thanks for the reply Aus, Yeah ive tried setting the NIC to fixed 100 at the
moment its auto, but when I do the server is soooo damn slow, takes over 6
mins to copy a 5mb file, dont ask me why, even when I try fixing the speed
to 100 Duplex on both the client and the server.

When its in auto it takes approx 2 secs to copy a 5mb file which is right
for 100mbps.

I will try swapping the network card on Tuesday for this new 3com one, it
cost enough money so lets hope :)

All I keep doing is try stuff see if it happens then try some more, it sucks
and has been going on now for 3 weeks, our core business server is the
problem, when it drops clients its a pita to logout the users and sort it.

I recken its a problem with the Switch/network card combo but I have no way
of finding out as its not a managed switch, at least then I could see what
port is dropping and see if there is a pattern, but at the moment there is
no pattern.

currently I am running winMTR a ping utility which is nice, but doesnt tell
you why :((

This problem is effecting 45 users on our network, hence why I have to fix
it. Dell said change the NIC, but as its a SBS box I will have to rebind
everything to the new NIC which is a bit of a pain, but oh well.....
