Hi,

I use and recommend a hardware firewall always - the built in SBS stuff is a
complete no no in my opinion - only use if you have zero money.

I tend to use Netscreen firewalls with the Trend (optional) AntiVirus engine
built-in. This gives you a firewall and anti-virus in one box for not too
much. I fond it picks up most viruses very well, but not all - you still need
a local scanner running on the server and client PCs.

For anti-virus Symantec are the bottom of my list as it is complete
bloatware . If you ever look at the full install of Norton Security it can
cripple anything but the latest of PCs; for my clients sake I remove all
traces of it - unfortunately Dell bundle a basic version of this on their
systems and people happily buy in to it after the 3 month trial without
thinking.

What I can say is that I have tried multiple products with SBS 2003 and
simple and effective were my critria and I have come to use AVG. I find it
excellent - not complex, does the job - covers all versions of Windows Server
inc. NT and Exchange and Linux even. Try a trial edition which is how I
tested with SBS initially and Ive had no issues - it just works without
wasting my time confiugring this and that etc. etc.. That compared with
McAfee and Norton and GFI, who all seem to have major glitches, is a
revalation. Test it yourself - compare a few products and see what you like.
Most all of the av products for plain Server will work fine with SBS - which
isnt 'special' in any way as regards anti-virus products.

Anyway Ive gone on enough! have fun..
