I got it to work. Here is what I did:
- Backup my Calendar and Contacts in Outlook by creating copies of the
folders in my Mailbox.
- Completely uninstall PALMONE, PALM, any other PALM related software
(Pocket Mirror and what not from older versions)
- Reboot computer and delete any of the uninstalled application's folders
from C:\Program Files that didn't get deleted when uninstalled.
- Re-run the TREO650 installation CD and follow each step from beginning to
end. Reboot as needed and the installation wizard automatically continues.
- Configure to use Outlook instead of PalmDesktop, Hotsync automatically
reconfigures.
- Perform initial Hotsync via USB cable. Your existing profile on your TREO
will need to be recreated on the computer and will then backup all the
information on your TREO to your user profile folder under the Palm folder
in Program Files.
**This duplicated my Contacts items in both Outlook and the TREO, if this
happens to you, delete all items in Contacts (and Calendar if need be) in
Outlook and restore from your backups created earlier. Then Right click on
Hotsync, select custom, select Contacts, and choose Desktop overwrites
Handheld for the next sync. Press the Hotsync button on the USB cable to
overwrite your Contacts on the TREO. Check both Outlook and TREO to see if
they are correct now. Check Calendar as well though this will be
overwritten when you use the VersaMail sync.
- Reconfigure Documents to Go and any other 3rd party apps/conduits so that
they reinstall/sync back to the palm
- Go to Start\Programs\Palmone\VersaMail Setup and run this wizard to setup
your Exchange account and POP accounts. In this case, it retrieved my
existing settings that were on my TREO and loaded them into this computer
side application. Reconfigure the accounts as need be if they don't test
properly or need other configurations set than the default ones.
- Go to your TREO VersaMail Exchange account and press the SYNC key in
VersaMail. I needed to do this twice in order to ensure that it retrieved
everything.
- I then created new items in Outlook, and ran VersaMail SYNC again to test
and the new Outlook items were downloaded to the TREO.
- I then created new items in TREO calendar and ran VM SYNC again, checked
Outlook and the items appeared. I then modified, synced, deleted, synced
and everything is working properly.
**Items created in the TREO calendar showed up in Outlook with the multiple
attendees icon in the appointment and showed that I organized the
appointment.
So, it looks like the problems had to do with the VersaMail conduit being
installed initially incorrectly. In my case, I had a previous Palm folder
in my Program Files because I had a Samsung SPH-i500 with an older version
of Hotsync and PocketMirror. Though these applications were uninstalled and
overwritten with my initial TREO installation, the original Palm folder was
not so the install didn't complete 100% as it seemed.
Please contact me directly if you require any assistance with this,

Good luck,
Andrew
