Error SBS 2003 assistant

When I go to the assistant for Internet and e- mail, it gives an error
forming a component and continuous with the rest of the installation. The
error always is forming the electronic mail. The case is that I want to form
a connector of external smtp and I cannot do it with the assistant. I use
SBS 2003.
