Hi Mike,
Have a look in the workstation event log for starters. I'm hoping you'll
find a lot of connectivity related errors that might point to a bad nic, nic
drivers, or faulty network cable. Some dell workstations with on-board nics
seem to be particularily sensitive to nic driver versions, and the symptoms
I've seen are for the most part consistent with yours. Allthough, I'm not
sure about the term 'locked up', in my case I'd call it 'unresponsive'.
