Thanks very much for replying.
I tried specifying a different Exchange mailbox but had exactly the same
problem. I then set POP3 logging level to maximum, cleared the event log,
sent another mail to dummy@domain.com and hit the Retrieve Now button on the
POP3 connector manager Scheduling tab. Afterwards, there were a number of
entries in the event log which I've included below but no errors. The 4th
event (EventID 1050) is probably the most relevant. Again the message did
NOT appear in the specified Exchange mailbox, the sender received an
undeliverable notification and three more files appeared in the c:\program
files\exchgsvr\mailroot\vsi 1\badmail folder. :-(
