We have just recently installed SBS 2003 Premium Edition. We are using
Exchange 2003. We use the POP3 Connector to bring in the email to the
exchange server. We send our outgoing email to the webhost's smtp servers.
On three occasions we have had problems sending out email because it appears
that the webhost is not allowing the relay. Each of these problems have
occured on Mondays.
5.7.1 smtp;550 5.7.1, Relaying Denied.
When I run the wizard for the internet connection and run the pop3 connector
it seems to reset the connection.
I am told by the webhost that this might be because we need to login to the
smtp server before we relay out email. They said that we should sign-in
every 10 minutes. Now the POP3 Connector shows the best schedule is every
15 minutes. And we do have passworks in the account.
QUESTIONS IS: Is there a setting in Exchange to set a smpt server signin?
