I completed install of SBS 2003 Premium and moved on to the Premium
Technologies disk following the premiuminstallsteps.htm procedure. I got as
far as: To upgrade the instance of MSDE used for Windows SharePoint Services
Step 7. I am unable to clear the Default checkbox and select the SharePoint
instance.

To solve the problem I first uninstalled SQL, repeated the install, and
tried it again. No luck. Then I tried stopping SQL Server. No luck there
either. I suspect there’s a problem with the SQL install but everything
completed normally.
