Hi,
Glad to hear from you.
According to your description, I understand you want to access the
companyweb from the internet. But the link for companyweb in your default
page is not a FQDN names. If I am off base, please let me know. Based on my
research, if you want to access the companyweb from the internet you need
first publish the companyweb on SBS. Then change the My Company's Internal
Web Site link in default page from http://companyweb to
https://server.PublicDomainName.com:444.
Here I would like to give you some steps on how to publish the Companyweb:
Before going any further, could you tell me the version of your SBS,
premium or standard? The steps for publishing intranet site in SBS 2k3
system are different between Standard versions and Premium version For
standard version, you can perform the following steps to publish companyweb:
We will use CEICW (Configure Email and Internet Connection Wizard) to
configure the internet accessing and publish http://Companyweb to the
Internet in SBS 2K3 environment without ISA installed.
1. Open the Server Management console. Go to Standard Management\To Do
List.
2. Click the "Connect to the Internet" link.
3. Click Next. On the Firewall page, select "Enable firewall" and click
Next.
4. Click Next. On the "Web Services Configuration", make sure "Allow
access to the entire Web site from the Internet" is slected. If you select
"Allow access to only the following Web site services from the Internet",
make sure "Windows Sharepoint Services intranet site" is checked. Click
Next.
5. On the "Web Server Certificate" page, choose to create a new Web
server certificate and then type the public FQDN that you use to access
OWA. Be sure FQDN can be resolved to your public IP address. If you do not
have valid Internet FQDN, please input your public IP address of your SBS
network.
6. Go through the remaining steps.
7. Then check if you can access companyweb by using
https://server.PublicDomainName.com:444.
For more detailed information about running CEICW, please refer to the
following KB:

2003

In addition, I would like to mention that the following ports should be
opened on the hardware router/firewall, through some of them are not
related with companyweb but it will impact other features on SBS 2003:
TCP 25 This port is used for incoming SMTP traffic. If you are using
POP3 connector, there is no need to open this port.
TCP 110 This port is used for POP3 mail clients.
TCP 443 SSL
TCP 444 Companyweb SSL
TCP 4125 Remote Web Workplace
TCP 3389 Terminal services
If you run the SBS 2003 with ISA2000, please follow the KB article below to
publish the companyweb to the internet:
